Why Terra Has Two Layers

Terra is not just a series of stories.
It is an experiment in structure.

From the beginning, the project required two distinct surfaces.

The first is the Archive — the in-universe system.
It operates as if it were real. It does not acknowledge authorship, process, or construction. Its authority depends on internal coherence.

The second is this space — the Workshop.

The Workshop exists to document how Terra is built: its narrative decisions, its structural logic, and the ongoing development of its infrastructure.

Keeping these layers separate is deliberate.

If the Archive referenced its own creation, immersion would collapse.
If the Workshop attempted immersion, clarity would disappear.

Terra explores how systems reshape memory and meaning over time.
To do that honestly, the project itself must be built like a system.

Books operate slowly.
Infrastructure evolves continuously.
The Workshop documents that evolution.

This is not a marketing layer.
It is a construction log.

Terra will unfold gradually.
The structure must support that duration.
